LISA WMS Update: A Loosely Coupled WMS for SAP Business One, the New 3PL Module and more!

Our stable, homegrown product, LISA WMS, has come a long way since its inception, growing from a simple barcode scanning application into one the most technologically advanced, loosely coupled, WMS for SAP Business One, and SAP Business ByDesign. With great aspirations to continuously improve the supply chain value offered by LISA WMS for SAP users, we would like to reflect on the latest improvements added to our system, as well as what you can expect in the future!

The new 3PL Module for SAP Business One

Perhaps the largest update this past year is the addition of a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) module, which allows any company to manage their clients’ inventory inside their warehouse space as a service and easily invoice them based on pre-set criteria. Let’s take a closer look at the main features provided by our new 3PL module for SAP Business One:

  • Configuration of zones and storage locations reserved for 3PL services along with associated charges within the warehouse.
  • Custom billing rules for each 3PL Client based on their storage needs and requirements.
  • Real-time inventory traceability across warehouse zones, and throughout the inbound and outbound supply chain.
  • In one click, generate precise and clear invoices with all the operations performed for a particular customer.
  • Establish additional revenue streams with outbound logistics and leverage underutilized warehouse space.

LISA WMS Loosely Coupled for SAP Business One

SAP has made great strides by introducing the SAP Business One Web Client, and along with that coming to fruition, LISA WMS’ browser-based interface is fully accessible and functional as well! A loosely coupled Warehouse Management System (WMS) add-on for SAP Business One can provide several benefits, such as:

  • Quick Deployment and Scalability: Loosely coupled add-ons can easily be implemented or replaced without disrupting core ERP functions.
  • Seamless Integration: Leveraging standard interface and protocols allows for faster data-exchange between ERP and WMS databases.
  • Minimized Impact of Upgrades: With a loosely coupled WMS, both SAP Business One and the add-on can be updated independently, ensuring compatibility with new software versions.

Greater Efficiency Through Paperless Picking

With the roll out of the new Order Picking Priorities Screen, warehouse managers will now be able to prioritize picking tasks for Sales Orders, Transfer Requests and Production Orders, and release them into a digital picking list for fulfilment. Warehouse workers will then be able to use their hand-held devices or computer to access the order picking screen and confirm their work order assignment, without printing any physical paper pick list! If no priority has been set, the system will generate a picking list based on the established picking rules/strategy (i.e., FIFO, LIFO, earliest shipping date, etc.).

What’s to come for LISA WMS

It goes without saying that N’ware remains completely committed to providing innovative supply chain and leading business applications to SAP Business One and SAP Business ByDesign clients in 2023! We keep on investing heavily in our products portfolio to add exciting new features and capabilities to LISA WMS. More details are coming in the next few weeks, stay tuned for updates!
